Unlike fleas, ticks are not insects, they are arachnids like mites, spiders and scorpions. They have a four stage life cycle consisting of eggs, larvae, nymphs, and adults. Females lay about 100 eggs at a time. Ticks are typically found during spring and summer months on tall grasses and shrubs. Ticks cannot jump or fly; they crawl. Ticks can carry diseases. Rocky mountain spotted fever (RMSF), lyme disease, and ehrlichiosis are the most common diseases transmitted by ticks.

Habitat - Ticks prefer tall grasses and shrubs and transfer to humans and animals that brush them.

Control - Spray areas with tall grass, weeds, or other unkept areas with an appropriate liquid residual pest control product such as Cy-Kick CS, Demand CS, Onslaught, orTransport GHP. Might take multiple applications. EcoEXEMPT IC-2, EcoPCO ACU, and MotherEarth 2% Py are very effective green alternative pest control products.
